about
'ctrl' was originally released on the CD 'Impulse' in 2010 and performed live as early as 2009. This live version was recorded direct do disc and shows it's development over the span of many presentations. The originally released recording of 'ctrl' was just under 3 minutes. Over 6 years, and hundred(s) of performances, elements of the piece, elaborated and developed, put this recorded form at roughly 11 minutes long. Until an expansive archive deep dive proves otherwise, this is the definitive final structure with the original set of synth voices despite the ongoing development of the ctrlKey instrument.
I saw these guys perform tracks from/related to this record at the Hirschhorn museum and it was one of the most entertaining things I’ve ever experienced. What a fun record. petnoodle
Really really REALLY pissed off at Rob Miller; Amebix were a seminal band for me and he goes and comes out with shit like this? I know time passes, and people change, but seriously; WTF? moggydon
