about
'ctrl' was originally released on the CD 'Impulse' in 2010 and performed live as early as 2009. This live version was recorded direct do disc and shows it's development over the span of many presentations. The originally released recording of 'ctrl' was just under 3 minutes. Over 6 years, and hundred(s) of performances, elements of the piece, elaborated and developed, put this recorded form at roughly 11 minutes long. Until an expansive archive deep dive proves otherwise, this is the definitive final structure with the original set of synth voices despite the ongoing development of the ctrlKey instrument.
Enter a Library of Babel from the masters of the electronic concept album, as they plunder the plethora of “sound” albums released by the maverick founder of Folkways, Moses Asch.
